Cookies,Tracking Cookie and Tracking Tools Policy of the Society for the Advancement of Education, Jerusalem

1. Please note: Regarding privacy protection and information security matters of our website, please refer to the privacy and information security policy of our registration website at https://kidum-edu.org.il/privacy. This policy focuses solely on the use of cookies and tracking tools by the Society for the Advancement of Education, Jerusalem, Non-profit 58-002811-6 (hereinafter: “the SAE“) on the website to which this policy is associated.

2. What is a “cookie”? Cookies are data components that a website transfers to the user’s hard disk for record management purposes. Cookies can be used to store, enrich and manage information on end devices used by you, enabling identification or assignment of unique identifiers (UID) for each unique user. Cookies can simplify website use, for example by saving passwords and preferences when you are on the site. Additionally, we use cookies to determine specific usage of this site. There are additional tracking technologies such as web beacons which are transparent pixel images used to collect information about website usage, email responses and tracking, for example.

3. Why does the SAE use cookies? We use cookies to save and manage user settings and preferences selected during site visits, to save preferences of returning users for future use (for example, geographic location, choices and preferences regarding accessibility and language) and for statistical analysis of site performance and trends, customization of advertising content and effectiveness of marketing campaigns, and identification and tracking of errors.

4. Types of cookies used by the SAE: The SAE uses two types of cookies and/or additional tracking technologies on the site:

4.1 Cookies and additional tracking technologies that are technically essential for site management – these means are required for proper operation of the site, to enable basic and essential functionality of the site (for example, user identification and password requests, ability to browse from page to page, etc.), site security and fraud prevention (blocking DDOS attacks, etc.), and collection of site traffic data (for example, which pages on the site are most popular). These cookies may be sent for our use or for use by third parties who provide us with services that enable us to operate the service or aspects related to it.

4.2 Cookies and/or additional tracking technologies intended for additional purposes that we operate in connection with the university website, such as: statistics, advertising and sales promotion, display improvement and user experiences. Additionally, the site also collects information (domain name, web browser, IP address, user-agent, HTTP referrer, last URL a user requested), about visits to our site, and we may use this information to analyze site traffic patterns and to perform routine system maintenance, and specifically:

4.2.1 Analytics Cookies – These cookies collect anonymous data about how users use the site. They track metrics such as page visits, time spent on pages, bounce rates and loading speed, with the aim of helping website owners improve functionality and user experience.

  1. Marketing Cookies – These cookies are designed to track user behavior for advertising purposes. They collect data on interactions, preferences and habits, and enable targeted digital marketing, such as personalized advertisements and retargeting campaigns.
  2. Functional Cookies – These cookies enhance user experience by saving preferences such as language settings or personalized layouts. While essential cookies are required for site operation, functional cookies improve usability but are not always necessary for basic site functionality.

5. When will we ask you to approve our use of cookies? The SAE ensures that, if you open the site for the first time or have changed your cookie and tracking tool preferences in your browser in a way that removes all cookies and/or browse in “INCOGNITO” mode, then the next time you visit the site, you will be informed about our use of cookies and additional tracking technologies through a banner. The banner will allow you to choose between essential cookies and tracking tools only (ESSENTIAL) ,versus installing all cookies embedded in the site, and to click on the link to reach this cookie and tracking tools policy for additional details regarding such use. Note: There are several sites that provide detailed information about cookies in general, such as: AboutCookies.org and AllAboutCookies.org.
