Privacy and Information Security Policy

Welcome to the website of the Society for the Advancement of Education Jerusalem, Registered Non-Profit 58-002811-6 at https://www.kidum-edu.org.il/ (hereinafter: “the SAE”).

The SAE is committed to protecting your privacy when using the website and respects it.

The SAE’s current privacy policy is available on the website at all times for your review, and it constitutes an integral part of the terms of use appearing on the website. The privacy policy may be updated from time to time, therefore we recommend reviewing the policy document periodically, and whenever it is updated, we will post an appropriate notice on our website.

Should we change this privacy policy in a manner that requires obtaining renewed consent from you according to any law for collecting additional personal information about you or performing a new action with your personal information, we will be sure to obtain your consent in advance for the collecting or using of existing personal information, through reasonable and accepted means before performing the additional processing as mentioned.

Except for the “Merit for Advancement” program, all other SAE programs and projects are subject to separate registration terms and legal provisions, and joining them is subject to separate legal terms, with their registration management conducted on dedicated websites for each program. Navigation to those websites will be done through dedicated links on the information pages appearing on this website and/or by searching for the program name in an internet search engine. It is clarified that the website subject to this privacy policy is the SAE’s official website only.

On our website, there is an option to register for the “Merit for Advancement” program, details of which appear on the website, including filling out a dedicated registration form and paying participation fees as detailed on the program’s website at https://www.kidum-edu.org.il/reuim-lekidum/, which involve joining as a registered user and entering personal details as specified in the form. Should you choose to register for the “”Merit for Advancement” ” program as mentioned and provide information, you undertake to provide us only correct, accurate, and complete details, and by providing them, you confirm their accuracy.

You are requested to read this policy carefully, and if you do not agree to its content or do not accept it in full, do not make any use of the website and/or send us your details through electronic forms or contact details appearing on the website, as browsing and sending information to the SAE through these forms and/or website are done subject to our terms of use and this privacy policy, which constitutes an integral part of our terms of use only.

The SAE clarifies and emphasizes that you have no legal obligation to provide personal information about yourself to the SAE, and that providing information depends on your will and consent. However, it is clarified that failure to provide personal information may prevent the SAE from responding to your inquiries for information and/or prevent your registration to participate in the “Merit for Advancement” project and/or prevent access to certain parts of the website.

All terms defined in the terms of use also apply to the provisions of this privacy policy.

Personal Information Collected by the SAE and Permitted Uses

When registering to participate in the “Merit for Advancement” project through an online form located on the website, the SAE may collect from you the information details entered by you as required in the form, in optional fields if you choose to fill them, or included in approvals and/or certificates you attach as attachments within the registration form for processing your registration request and considering your score for university admission registration purposes, including:

1. Personal details about you, including your full name, sample of your signature, residential address and your contact details (email and mobile), date of birth and country of birth or immigration, details about your studies, eligibility for a matriculation certificate, information about your medical condition, as well as approvals, copies of identifying documents including appendix or copies of additional certificates uploaded as attachments as required in the registration form

2. Details about your family, including names of your parents or guardian, details about their education, country of birth or immigration, occupation and contact details; number of your siblings including their names, year of birth, as well as approvals, copies of identity documents including appendix of your parents/guardian and copies of additional certificates uploaded as attachments as required in the registration form.

3. Details about special problems of yours or your family to assist in determining your socio-economic status, including details about medical conditions or exceptional events that affected your life according to the fields detailed in the online form, including any approvals, copy of medical record or copies of certificates uploaded as required in the registration form to support these details.

4. Additional personal information you choose to share of your own free will in free text fields or in a personal letter you attach.

5.   Note regarding lack of commitment in “Merit for Advancement” registration to higher education institution as mentioned in section 7:

The information collected for this purpose for registration in the “”Merit for Advancement” program is collected to determine a score for affirmative preference in university or higher education institution admission to receive affirmative preference for university admission or any other information the SAE will have as a result of the screening and ranking process mentioned. Based on our determination, the SAE, as part of the program will transfer your information to universities or other higher education institutions or their representatives, as well as the results of our internal screening and ranking process for score determination.

Additionally, it is emphasized that: (i) participation in the project does not guarantee admission to any university or higher education institution, and that such institutions will use the score assigned to you by the SAE according to their full discretion, (ii) by submitting your candidacy to the “”Merit for Advancement” ” program you agree to transfer your information to those higher education institutions, and you will have no claim or demand against them related to receiving personal information from the SAE in order to examine your candidacy.

6. Note regarding personal information about third parties under section 7:

The SAE is not responsible or cannot be responsible for receiving personal information about family members. You are solely responsible for informing and/or obtaining any consent or approval for sharing the required details about them within your candidacy submission, and you will be solely responsible for any claim, argument or demand raised against the SAE in this context, including if required, the obligation to compensate or defend the SAE in any proceeding filed against it in this matter. For candidates of the “”Merit for Advancement” ” program who are minors, it is your guardian’s responsibility to obtain these approvals on your behalf when approving your registration to the program, agreeing to this policy’s terms, and signing the program registration form.

When submitting candidacy via email:

1. All personal information about the applicant required in tender documents, applicant representatives when it’s a corporation, any additional personal information required to attach as part of threshold conditions or tender requirements or any additional personal information the applicant chooses to share to include within their tender proposal and attachments.

2.   Note regarding personal information about third parties under section 1

The SAE is not responsible and cannot be responsible for receiving personal information about employees, suppliers, recommenders or third parties within tender proposal submission. The applicant on behalf of themselves (tender for private person) or on behalf of a corporation is solely responsible for informing and/or obtaining any consent or approval for sharing required details for themselves or for the corporation they represent regarding inclusion of third parties’ personal information in the tender proposal, attachments, clarification questions or completions within it.

In this regard, the tender applicant themselves and/or the corporation they represent, as applicable, will have no right, claim or demand against the SAE in this context, including if required, the applicant and/or the corporation they represent, together or separately as applicable, will be obligated to compensate or defend the SAE in any proceeding filed against it due to transfer of personal information as mentioned about third parties within tender proposal submission.

When you contact us or we contact you back in response to your request to create contact through an electronic form on the website, landline phone number through communication software (such as: WHATSAPP) or email message to our email address, so you can receive support services and/or information from our representative, we may need to collect additional information from you, including:

Your full name, your contact details (mobile and email), any personal information you share verbally with our representative or that you enter in your inquiry content in online form, chat or email message (free text) or that is included in attachments you attach to your inquiry through one of the mentioned means.

When paying for the program through our website to participate in the “Merit for Advancement “, the following information is collected in our payment window:

Full name of candidate subject to payment, full name of payer, candidate’s contact details (mobile phone, email address) and token for payment execution containing alternative number with characteristics unique to a credit card number generated by the clearing company the SAE works with as detailed below.

When making a donation to the SAE itself or one of our projects through one of the available payment methods, we may collect the following personal information:1. Check by mail will include sender’s name, account holder’s name, and bank account details appearing on the check and/or any additional personal information included in any additional document inserted in the envelope together with the check;

2. A bank transfer’s record will include, the reason for the transfer, the account holder’s name, bank account details, and transaction date;

3. When donating via Bit or credit card through the secure payment page of the SAE’s subcontractor (Grow Payments Ltd.), the information collected includes: the account holder or credit card holder’s name, the content of their note/donation purpose, the donation amount, the transaction date, and the bank account details or token containing alternative number with characteristics unique to a credit card number generated by the clearing company the SAE works with.

4. When donating via Bit or credit card through the secure payment page of the subcontractor Ashor Fund Registered Non-Profit [operating JGive], established for the SAE for fundraising, the information collected includes:

The full name of the donor, their ID number or company number, any personal information appearing in dedication (free text), the donation amount, contact details (email and mobile), and the token for payment execution containing an alternative number with characteristics unique to a credit card number generated by the clearing company the SAE works with.

*Payments will be executed through card clearing through a secure popup window of GROW clearing company clearing Visa credit cards and/or through Bit service of Bank Hapoalim, operating under the PCI standard and strict standards required from credit clearing and payment service providers.

The SAE does not store full payment method details, including payer’s name and ID number, but only receives as mentioned a four-digit token, and other information about the payment method is transferred by you directly to the clearing company through its secure page under SSL standards on our website, when you enter it the first time you use the payment method.

Statistical-aggregate information will be collected during browsing through cookies and additional tracking technologies on the website during your browsing, as follows:

Aggregate and non-identifying information will be collected when checking website integrity, and analyzing user preferences generally on the website and/or website function and security;

Information about the device from which you browse to the website, browser from which you connected to the website, websites you browsed before reaching our website and/or information about the use you make of the website and how you browse it, all through cookies, pixels and/or other tracking tools, as detailed extensively in the cookies and tracking technologies use policy – for improving the website, marketing campaigns and content appearing on it, and for displaying content on the website in a manner personally adapted to your preferences.

Important Notes:

The SAE will store, process and manage your personal information according to sections 7 to 11 above in accordance with the Privacy Protection Law 5741-1981 (hereinafter: “Privacy Protection Law”), regulations enacted under it and/or Privacy Protection Authority guidelines, as well as according to any law.

Should you choose to provide the SAE with personal information as mentioned in sections 7-10 above, for contacting or inquiring about certain details or submitting a registration request for the “Merit for Advancement” program, then you undertake to provide only correct, accurate and complete details. By providing these details you confirm their accuracy. It is clarified that providing incorrect details, or failure to provide all required details, may prevent website use, harm service quality provided to users, thwart participation in the project and harm the ability to create contact with you in response to inquiry, or in case of providing incorrect or false details, constitute breach of website terms of use or constitute violation of law.

Use Purposes for Which the SAE May Use Personal Information Collected from or about You Through the Website:

Ensuring website content is displayed most efficiently for you, according to the device and browser characteristics with which you browsed to the website;

Receiving your request to create contact when you contact us through email, electronic forms or call to our telephone center to and responding to your inquiry as mentioned;

Website security and maintaining its integrity, and the integrity of information and content appearing on it, including operating information security measures for detecting, monitoring and characterizing website traffic, operating fraud prevention measures and/or for detecting and documenting violations of website terms of use regulations and/or this privacy policy.

Receiving a registration request, subject to your consent, for the “Merit for Advancement” program through its designated registration page.

Performing statistical analyses and analyses on non-identifying or aggregate data about browsing preferences and use of website visitors, for improving and optimizing the website, appearing content and/or displaying banners or parts of it in a personally adapted manner, subject to your prior consent as mentioned in the cookies and tracking technologies use policy.

Enforcing this privacy policy and the website’s terms of use and/or acting according to legal requirement or any other legal obligation the SAE is bound to.

Processing personal information entered or uploaded by candidates for the “Merit for Advancement” program to generate an affirmative preference ranking that will be transferred together with personal information entered and/or uploaded within the request to participate in the ” Merit for Advancement ” program to higher education institutions to support the candidate’s candidacy within academic study registration application submission, based on this data.

Note: The SAE ensures that all personal information collected as mentioned above, will be processed closely to its collection purpose, and for fulfilling the purposes mentioned in sections above.

Information Security

The SAE makes its best effort to protect the integrity of personal information received on the website and personal information collection and storage are done in a secure environment, using a combination of security technologies, security procedures and additional organizational measures designed to protect users’ personal information from unauthorized access, and designed to minimize the risks of theft, harm, loss or unauthorized access to information, while maintaining required confidentiality, all according to any law requirements.

However, there is no certainty that these measures guarantee absolutely that personal information will not be exposed or stolen from the SAE’s information databases. Therefore, and accordingly, the SAE does not undertake, and users cannot expect that the services and information systems we use will be completely immune from unauthorized access and/or harm to personal information about you stored by us.

Without derogating from the above, you are responsible for ensuring that the device and browser from which you use the website and/or website services are secure, and to notify us immediately if you know or think unauthorized use was made of your personal information.

By using the website and our services, you are aware and agree to these limitations.

Privacy and Information Security Arrangements When Clearing Payment Methods

Credit card clearing, within payment for orders by credit card made on the website, will be performed by Bit (Bank Hapoalim) or Visa through Grow Payments Ltd. providing secure payment platform connected to both mentioned sources (hereinafter referred to together as: “the Clearing Company”) among credit companies’ service providers and authorized to perform credit clearing operations according to any law, and meets all strict standards and credit companies’ guidelines for performing secure internet transactions, including the PCI standard. The SAE does not store the details of the payment method you use, and only transfers the information you enter to the Clearing Company through encrypted and secure means.

Payment is made through dedicated popup window for the SAE of Bit or Grow Payments Ltd., and is subject to the privacy policy and terms of use of each.

It is clarified that storing credit details and user details transferred to the Clearing Company is done by the Clearing Company according to information security standards and international standards and credit companies’ instructions, and the SAE will not be responsible for any privacy harm to users caused by providing credit details to the Clearing Company.

How the SAE Collects Statistical and/or Aggregate Information About You and Other Website Users

When the SAE collects statistical-aggregate information about you and users as well as information related to website use manner, it does so through automatic means in one or more of the following ways:

During browsing and website use, the SAE may collect non-identifying, aggregative or statistical information about your website visit, use of services and network browsing.

This information may include details regarding your computer and/or mobile device location, the IP address through which you accessed the website, your operating system, your browser identifier, location data, browser type, domain names, and language settings.

The SAE may collect personal information and additional information regarding your website behavior, such as information or advertisements you read, pages and products you viewed, offers and services that interested you, and regarding how you browse the website as mentioned also through use of Cookies files and other tracking technologies (together: “cookies”), as these may be operated on the website.

Personal Information Transfers to Third Parties by the SAE

For operating the website and providing services available through it and/or for our business management needs based on processing our customers’ personal information, the SAE may contract with various third parties, as follows:

The SAE will contract with service providers to assist us, for various purposes required for its business activity, including:

Operating the website, securing and/or maintaining it;

Preventing fraud, information security and/or protection from cyber-attacks and malicious activities;

Cloud storage services and Software-as-a-Service on which the website is operated/hosted;

Maintenance, design, upgrade and/or implementing website changes by our website designers and/or technical support;

Performing statistical analyses regarding the website, effectiveness of commercial campaigns appearing on the website and/or examining website relevance to its browsers;

Providing infrastructure for business management (cloud service companies for managing user information, data processing tools, office software and email providers, contact creation platforms, etc.)

Operating customer service centers and/or responding to inquiries through various contact means appearing on the website;

Transferring personal information, you enter within candidacy submission for the “Worthy of Advancement” program, including the results of screening and ranking process for determining an affirmative preference score the SAE will perform based on it, to higher education institutions or their representatives to support your candidacy for registration to studies at these institutions.

In any contracting with subcontractor as mentioned in section 30 above that involves providing access to personal information, transferring a full or partial copy of personal information or for collection, storage or processing of personal information about you by them, the SAE undertakes that:

It will take all measures required according to any law for contractual arrangement of providing access or transferring personal information and/or receiving outsourcing services for processing personal information about you, by those third parties, all to protect your privacy according to obligations imposed on the SAE according to any law.

Should assistance from those third parties involve transferring personal information outside Israel, the SAE will act according to obligations applying to it according to Privacy Protection Regulations (Information Transfer Outside State Borders), 5761-2001, both at the level of choosing countries where personal information is stored and in the aspect of contractual arrangement for ensuring your rights and protecting your privacy in personal information by the transferee.

Personal information collected about users and such information which the SAE uses, are subject to the Privacy Protection Law and the rules and regulations enacted under it, including Privacy Protection Authority guidelines and opinions in the Ministry of Justice, and, therefore except as mentioned in section 30 above, the SAE refrains from providing or giving access to personal information about you to any third parties, except in the following cases:

Should we be required to do so by court order or should legal steps be taken against us (criminal or civil) for actions you performed through the website while violating the website’s terms of use while violating the law;

Should we be required to do so to respond to any legal process such as search warrant, court summons, control or enforcement process of regulator or administrative body authorized by any law, or according to another legal instruction the SAE is bound to.

In this case the SAE may provide user details according to court order instructions and/or enforcement body instructions and/or authorized administrative body instructions, without need to obtain your prior consent.

Should we need to enforce our rights according to this privacy policy or website terms of use regulations, as a result of their violation by you or should dispute, claim, demand or legal proceedings arise between you and the SAE (including subsidiaries and/or related companies) and/or anyone on its behalf.

Should we need to transfer website operation to another corporation’s management, and in case of merger with another body or merging website activity with third party’s activity.

In this case, the SAE may transfer to the third party and/or absorbing company copy of stored information as well as any statistical information collected or processed by it subject to the third party exposed to it accepting all SAE’s obligations toward you as mentioned in this privacy policy, and undertaking to act according to it.

Links to Third Party Websites and Other External SAE Websites

Links may appear on the website that refer both to third party websites for which the SAE is not responsible in any way for content appearing and/or level of privacy protection provided by websites operated by third parties as mentioned.

You declare and understand that when clicking and moving to a website operated by any third party, the SAE will not be responsible for any privacy harm and/or other harm caused to you due to browsing and/or downloading and opening such a website, and the SAE recommends that before browsing, providing personal information or use by you that you read the terms of use and/or privacy policy of those websites, and exercise discretion accordingly.

It is clarified that the above is also relevant for clicking on links to social media websites, and all uses made will be according to the privacy preferences, privacy terms and terms of use on each social media website as mentioned, even if the page on the social media platform is operated by the SAE or anyone on its behalf.

Important clarification: Without derogating from the above, it is emphasized that when you click on a link that will transfer you to website of an institution, project or study program the SAE operates besides “Merit for Advancement” program, you will be referred to the relevant external website to which you want to move, and the terms of use and privacy policy that will apply to browsing those websites, will be separate and independent, as appearing on those websites.

User Rights in Personal Information About Them

According to section 13 of the Privacy Protection Law, your right to review personal information held about you in the SAE’s information databases, subject to process of clarification and verification of your identity and exercising viewing right appropriately in the circumstances of the matter, all according to any law provisions.

Should you find after review as mentioned, that information about you stored in our systems is not correct, complete, clear or updated, you may contact us and request us to correct the information as mentioned or alternatively delete it according to your rights under section 14 of the Privacy Protection Law.

It is clarified, that after you exercised viewing right as mentioned above, you must contact the SAE at email address: pniyot@kidum-edu.org.il. However, correcting information may prevent performing certain actions requested by you in your inquiry to us, and we will inform you accordingly after completing the request.

Retention and/or Deletion Policy of Surplus Information

It should be emphasized that, as part of the policy to delete non-current or unnecessary personal information according to legal obligations, we keep personal information about you only as long as we need it to perform the purpose for which it was collected or as required by law.

It is clarified, emphasized and agreed, that registration to programs through the website is intended only for users aged 18 and above. The SAE does not intentionally or knowingly collect information about minors unless it received authorization from the parent and/or guardian, as applicable according to guidelines in the registration form or registered website.

Should it come to our knowledge that information relating to minor under age 18 was collected by us without written approval from the minor’s parents and/or guardian being attached to the minor’s inquiry as mentioned, we will delete the personal information as mentioned from our databases immediately, except when we are prevented from doing so according to the above in section 32 above.

Miscellaneous

The SAE may change policy provisions from time to time. If substantial changes are made to this policy in provisions concerning types of personal information to be collected or the manner of use of personal information you provided, a notice will be published on the website.

Any dispute and/or disagreement regarding the policy and/or terms and/or provisions appearing on the website, if and when arising, will be resolved according to dispute resolution provisions in the terms of use regulations (this document).

In any case where any term and/or provision in this document becomes illegal, invalid or unenforceable, this will not prevent and/or detract from validity and/or legality of other provisions of this policy. It is clarified, that in such a case, the existence of another similar enforceable term will be applicable instead of the term that was deleted or removed.
